What Would ‘Sex and the City’ Look Like Today?

Sarah Jessica Parker sat down to chat for an interview at the Wall Street Journal’s Future of Everything Festival in Manhattan recently to talk on what would be different with Sex and the City it was redone in 2018. The show is nearly reaching its 20-year anniversary and a lot has changed politically, economically and socially in this world and especially New York City.

When the showed first aired in 1998 it featured no women of color and barely touched on the LGBTQ communities that are so prevalent in New York City today. Sex and the City has received a lot of criticism since it first aired because it featured basically an all-white cast. The Emmy winner did say that her character, Carrie Bradshaw would have a voice in the sexual politics of today like the MeToo movement.
