He is the great-great-great grandson of Bass Reeves, who was the first black deputy U.S. marshal west of the Mississippi River in the 1800s. He is also an associate professor of historical theology and assistant dean at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Florida.

He is an artist

Bryan Reeves is a multi-Platinum mixer and producer who has worked with some of the world’s biggest artists. His credits include Patti Labelle, Berlin, Kenny Loggins, Pet Shop Boys and Donna Summer.

Bryan has been dealing in African tribal art for almost three decades, starting with a stall on Portobello Road in the 1990s and expanding to a physical gallery space in West London. He has helped build many private collections and has sold to leading museums around the world including the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

He has also taught printmaking at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (SMFA) for five years as full-time visiting faculty. He facilitated the design, printing and distribution of six collaborative student publications through the SMFA’s Pro-Activity Lab.

He also launched Slop Art, a business-esque art project incorporating the work of hundreds of artists from around the world. The project has included four sales catalogs and other premium marketing expressions which have been featured in galleries and museums throughout the US.

He is a teacher

Having survived multiple dark nights of the soul, he is a master at teaching mindfulness to military veterans. He is also an author and a thriving relationship coach.

He is an assistant professor of historical theology at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and he also serves as dean of his campus in Jacksonville. He and his wife Charlotte have three children.

His latest side hustle is the 7Five beer co., which he co-owns with longtime friend Adam Coates. Like NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman, he is among the growing list of athletes who are attempting to break into the burgeoning craft beer industry.
